Sewer pipes are installed under the foundation and basement floor of the building. The main waste pipe (sewer lateral) runs from the home to the city sewer connection. Repairs to a damaged sewer pipe can cost anywhere from $3,000 to $25,000. A sewer camera inspection is the only way to determine if repairs are necessary.
To inspect the pipes and find possible problems, a special sewer video camera head connected to a flexible cable is inserted into the main sewer pipe cleanout, or in some cases, the vent stack and snaked through the pipe. Then the technician watches on a monitor at ground level to inspect and evaulate the waste pipe.
The video of the interior of the pipe is recorded. You’ll receive not only a written report, but a link to view the video online. We'll arrange for the sewer lateral inspection to be completed at the same time as your home inspection.
